Those who have studied writing must be familiar with a subordinate clause. This clause is used to make a sentence more coherent and understandable to an independent clause, giving it additional context whatever you've written. Subordinate clauses cannot be written on its own due to its nature being used as an addition to whatever sentence it is that you've written previously.
